KRS-1 MELB SHOW

School was in session last night as the Teacha…aka KRS-ONE dropped over two hours of knowledge onto Melbourne’s hyphy hip hop community. Gracing the decks to warm up, my homie Mixa blessed everyone with an incredible session of jams that left the crowd itching for some BDP. DJ Prime got himself into position ready to drop all the KRS-ONE goodness, but not before KRS invited one of his elders to come on stage to bless the land with the traditional digerdoo welcome ceremony. Carrying an Aboriginal flag onto stage, KRS jumped straight into his massive roster of jams, hardly taking a breather as he kept the energy at rip roaring heights. Inviting B-boys, B-Girls and MCs onstage to showcase Australia’s mad skills, KRS makes everyone feel as if they are a big part of this amazing clique we call hip hop culture. Trent Slingshot worked overtime to get KRS over here on a month long cruise (Kris does not fly), so the celebrations were long overdue for the Philospher’s first ever Australian tour. Still heaps of shows coming up on the tour (see below) – so make sure you get your tickets now! This is certainly a one in a lifetime experience.
