Ever wondered what my 5 MUST HAVE ALBUMS of all-time are? Yeah, me neither! Jokes, jokes. The good homies at Malaysia’s number one fashion/street/art site STREETHING asked me while I was in the throws of my epic spending spree in Japan. It didn’t take too long for me to come up with 5 but the hard part was sifting through all the nuggets to find the gold that would make the top of the list. As usual I bended the rules and submitted 6 albums, as no one can surpass the magic and brilliance of Mr Michael Jackson’s Thriller LP. But the number one spot of course goes to my favourite favourite favourite Hip Hop group A Tribe Called Quest with Midnight Marauders. I keep the theme of Native Tongues strong in my list with Queen Latifah and De La Soul rounding out a stellar list in my opinion. If I could do it all again, I’d replace BLACK STAR with BELL BIV DEVOE’s WBBD-BOOTCITY! – THE REMIX ALBUM. Instead I’ll just hit you with the epic Word To The Mutha video below.
