Ever since A$AP Rocky flossed SSUR’s Comme Des Fuckdown beanie, streetwear has been turned on its head looking to rock this blatant middle finger to Rei Kawakubo’s Comme Des Garcons. With impeccable timing thanks to the crazy hype surrounding Supreme’s collab with the brand a couple of months back, the Fuckdown has been on many homie’s wish list. Yesterday I was inundated with emails, txts and FB messages on where to cop the beanie, so the proof is in the pudding. Having been seeded a pair of the OG Promo AIAIAI TMA-1s(along with the rest of the Favela Rock fam) a couple of years back, I’d slept on the Fool’s Gold collabo thinking I’d wait until my OGs had had their day. Unfortunately I waited too long and the limited edition 2000 pairs had all but sold out in a matter of months since their release. What burned more was that I wanted to support my homies Catchdubs and A-Trak by rocking these to my gigs…so the look out was on! A couple of days ago these rocked up on my doorstep…a present from a crew in Perth that had been big fans of my mixes. Everything from the packaging to the sound quality is thoroughly thought out, with extremely consumer friendly wrapping and an aesthetic not seen in DJ headphones before. No doubt you’ll see me rocking my yellow curly coils at some major upcoming gigs I’ve got going on! AIAIAI – it’s the way of the future!
